Is Blue Story based on a true story?

Yes, Blue Story is based on the real-life experiences of the film’s director Rapman, who himself grew up in Deptford, in the London borough of Lewisham.

However, while the events of Blue Story are based on the director’s own experiences, the events and characters in the film are fictionalized for dramatic purposes.

Having said that, the gangs in the film – the Ghetto Boys and the Peckham Boys – are based on real-life groups that have been active since the 1980s and 1990s respectively.
