A thug accused of thrashing a New Jersey nurse in Times Square is now facing murder charges – after the victim was taken off life support.
Police said charges were upgraded on Sunday against Jermaine Foster, 26, in the death of Maria Ambrosio, who was pronounced dead on Saturday after suffering a head injury after Foster slammed her the day before. .
Foster, whose last known address is in Irvington, Jersey, also faces charges of robbery and burglary.

Earlier in the day, police said he broke into a woman’s apartment at Sixth Avenue and 38th Street, awkwardly sat on her couch and fled with about $15 before police arrived.
He also allegedly snatched a cell phone from a 29-year-old woman at West 41st Street and Broadway before beating Ambrosio, a 58-year-old cancer nurse at Bayonne Medical Center.
His family said Ambrosio was walking into Times Square with a friend after visiting the Philippines consulate in Midtown and having lunch with friends.
According to the family, he never regained consciousness and was declared brain dead.
