Dramatic new video captures the moment a man stabbed a security guard and punched another worker at a Chelsea Apple store – after the guard insisted he wear a mask inside.
According to police and police sources, violent clashes broke out at the store on West 14th Street and Ninth Avenue around 6:20 pm on Friday when a male guard asked the customer to wear a mask.
Footage released late Monday showed a suspect smacking a security guard’s face next to a staircase.
Police said the vicious customer then left the shop for some time but returned soon.
The footage then cuts to the man slapping the 25-year-old female employee.
Footage shows the 37-year-old security guard quickly comes inside and the two men start wrestling near the entrance of the shop.
After the scuffle, the suspect pulled out a knife, hit and stabbed the guard – before bolting on the leg, police said.
The beating is not visible in the footage.
The guard, who had a cut wound on his forehead, a stab wound in his left arm and three stab wounds on his back, was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.
The other worker refused medical help for the pain and swelling on the face.
Police is still searching for the accused.
