NYC shopkeeper kills shop worker with box cutter, scene flees

Police said a Queens supermarket employee was bitten by a man operating a box cutter, who was suspected of shoplifting.

According to police, the 45-year-old victim’s throat and cheek were slit after confronting the man about allegedly stealing a necklace from Liberty Farms at Liberty Farms in South Ozone Park at 8 p.m. on October 1.

Surveillance footage that captured part of Slashing shows the victim trying to chase down his assailant after attack.

The accused managed to escape from the shop and search was on till Thursday.

The police did not know whether he successfully lifted the necklace.

Police said the victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in a stable condition.

The suspect fled after the incident, as the NYPD is looking for him.
