A real estate agent accused of murdering his father and his girlfriend at their upscale Jersey Shore Bayfront home is being “implicated” in grievously stabbing him, according to a report.
Sherry Lee Heffernan, 55, agreed to waive extradition to New Jersey on Friday during a court appearance in Pennsylvania on two counts of stabbing her father, John Anders, and his 75-year-old-manslaughter and weapons violations. Have become. Daily Local News reports his old girlfriend François Pitoy.
“If I had known I was wanted for something, I would have surrendered in New Jersey,” Heffernan of Landenberg, Pennsylvania, told a judge.
Heffernan, represented by a public defender, said she was confused by the court proceedings and asked to make a phone call to contact an attorney in New Jersey. She later claimed she was being set up in double slaying inside Anders’ six-bedroom, $1.9 million Surf City home as she was being escorted out of the courtroom in handcuffs, the newspaper reported.
“Not guilty,” Heffernan told the newspaper. “I’m being framed.”
Police allege in an affidavit that Heffernan told her father that she wanted to be a pimp for his house and became “dissatisfied” when he refused. A friend of Anders and Pitoy also told officials that the man had amended his will over the past month and beheaded Heffernan and his other daughter in the process.
Police said surveillance camera footage caught a white RV similar to the Winnebago owned by Heffernan that was pulling north of her father at 7th Street home early on September 29, before leaving after an hour with its headlights off.
Investigators were called to the couple’s home by a relative four days after Pitoy had a gruesome scene with blood in several places and rubber gloves on the stairs, police said.
Pennsylvania State Police also found “several spots of red stains” on the carpet in Heffernan’s Winnebago.
“I can’t believe she did this,” Heffernan’s son, Joseph, reportedly told police, adding that she was the only person who had driven the RV in the past two weeks.
The Daily Local News reported that Joseph Heffernan said the relationship between his mother and Pitoy had soured because she considered Pitoy a “gold digger”, who was pressuring Anders to sell his beach house.
Heffernan, who was arrested by state police at his home on October 4, was ordered to be held without bail in the Chester County Jail pending an extradition hearing. Before returning to New Jersey, he will also face criminal charges of retail theft and obtaining stolen property in Pennsylvania, the newspaper reported.
