A potential thug dragged an elderly woman to the ground and punched her in the face in broad daylight — but she gave up when the new video shows the shocked victim not leaving her purse.
The 65-year-old victim had just picked up the money she earned from collecting the bins when the suspect got off her bike and approached her while walking on St. Edwards and Willoughby Streets in Fort Greene on Sept. 4:40. 28, officials said.
The video, released early Thursday, shows the victim running down the street to escape the man – who runs after her.
A fight ensues in the middle of the road, as the suspect repeatedly points at the purse, but the victim refuses to give it.
The suspect is shown stroking the woman’s face and dragging her back to the sidewalk, where the struggle continues.
The woman eventually grabbed her purse, and the suspect got back on his bike and pedaled away.
As the incident unfolded, several people passed on the road and pavement as the suspect manhandled the victim, including two people who were standing in front of the incident.
The victim, who had pain and swelling on her face as well as back pain and cuts to her body, was taken to Brooklyn Hospital Center in stable condition.
