Police said on Sunday that a Staten Island woman who was shot by her teenager during a brawl on Saturday has died.
According to the NYPD, 51-year-old Minear Pelinkovic was stabbed in the chest by his 18-year-old son, Adnan Pelinkovic, at their New Dorp home at around 6:20 p.m. Saturday. Police said he was taken to Staten Island Hospital University North and pronounced dead at around 11 p.m.
Police said that in the shooting the son, who was taken into police custody at the scene, used a Sig Sauer 9mm, owned by the father of the alleged perpetrator. A spokesman for the NYPD said Saturday night’s fatal shooting was motivated by “some sort of logic.”
According to the NYPD, at the home, responding police said they saw the father of the alleged perpetrator and the victim’s husband, 54, with a non-fatal wound to his chest.
Little Pelinkovic was charged with murder, attempted murder as well as two counts of assault, possession of a loaded weapon and threatening, police said.
