A 3-year-old Texas boy is missing after he chased a neighbor’s dog into the woods, officials said.
News station KBTX reported that Christopher Ramirez was last seen in the woods near the Firefox neighborhood of Plantersville on Wednesday between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m.
His family told the officials that they had returned home with their food truck after selling refreshments.
When the boy went astray, they were busy unlocking the vehicle, KBTX reported.
Officials said the dog eventually came out of the forest, but the child did not.
Several law enforcement agencies have joined the search efforts, using K9s and drones to locate the boy.
“We won’t stop until he’s found. End of story. We’re not stopping,” Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell told the outlet.
Sowell said he did not think anyone was responsible for the child’s disappearance.
“There is no apprehension of any disturbance at this time,” he said.
